Today was a bit more difficult for me. Day 3 on the ocean, although beautiful, I started feeling cabin fever. I also was really feeling sad about JP not being around. Don’t get me wrong, I think I slept so much that I caught up on 7 years of no sleep! The truth was I needed this time but it was still hard being away from my son. It felt good to enjoy this big girl time I was having and I used this time to reflect on the path I want to pave for myself.
We landed in Jamaica, our first Port of Call..Ocho Rios to be exact! The weather since we were on the cruise was a bit overcast. It was raining but the truth was I wasn’t too concerned about not having a good hair day. I was one with nature and feeling good!
Today I was hanging with the lovely ladies Robin, Marilyn and Lela. I must admit I was still in awe of Lela and couldn’t get my eyes off of her beautiful curly hair and her piercing blue eyes. Her spirit and energy is the same, so real and infectious! Lela is an absolute hoot and you can see that her heart is just as big. We decided we were going to head over to the Dunn’s River Falls and it was an absolute beautiful waterfall. I didn’t venture walking up the rocks but boy was it fun watching others do it.
We made it back to the ship in time to meet up with the others for dinner and to share the experiences of the day.

I am so glad you got some rest, Melissa! We all remember when you sort of disappeared there for a bit. I have to say that #IndieCruise can be a bit overwhelming because we all come face to face with new realities in our lives — things we want to eliminate or minimize as well as things we want to create more of. And yes, Lela Barker is one awesome hunk of woman. The rain was a minor inconvenience, considering all the greatness that came of this year’s #IndieCruise — and a big part of the reason is YOU! We were all delighted that you were there. Thanks for sharing the fun in your blog!
Oh I am on a countdown to #IndieCruise13!
